Ever since most of my friends starting Facebooking, I've noticed that many people (myself included) have started routinely using FB's internal messaging, rather than e-mail. Even people who used to e-mail me directly have started messaging me in FB instead, meaning that communicating now takes two messages: FB's automatic e-mail that informs me I've been messaged, then - after I click through - the actual message on FB itself.
Strange, but also a really strong example of how quickly Facebooking becomes a way of life. Unlike blogging, FB is completely interactive and two-way: for every status update you put up, you also get 10 status updates back from your friends, making you feel a lot more connected all the time. Of course, rejecting the countless Zombie/Vampire/Warcraft invitations is a chore, but that's a small price to pay.
Needless to say, I'm an addict. As is almost everyone I know who is on Facebook. It's quite scary - people literally harass their friends into signing up.
Now excuse me while I update my status...
Christopher is blogging about his facebook addiction.
Yes, you are quite obsessed with it. You're perpetually online on the FaceBook thing! (I refuse to abbreviate it to "FB" for obvious reasons)
I donno dude, am still trying to figure why you call it "internet crack". I mean, it's definitely more fun than Friendster coz you can do lots more on this, but the novelty wears off pretty quickly. At least for me.
And please don't reply to this comment by writing on My Wall over at FaceBook heheheheh.
