Just got a bunch of DVDs (Transformers, Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol 5, Days Of Heaven Criterion Edition) and Blu-rays (Spiderman Trilogy, 2001).

Really, there aren't enough hours in the day. It doesn't help that I'm sick and that Ryan monopolizes the TV most of the time, anyway.

And the Blu-rays I'm really waiting for are still to come - Ratatouille, CE3K, ID4...and finally, Bladerunner. Sigh.

'300' Blu-ray outsells HD DVD by 2 to 1

It's true that 300 probably has a particular appeal to PS3 owners, but it's also true that most 'event' releases would be the same. So, despite the greater interactivity, HD DVD was resoundingly defeated in a head-to-head - again (as with Casino Royale). Despite the HD DVD camp's attempts to tout their lead in standalone players, all those PS3s are really paying off for Sony and their Blu-ray comrades.

I've only watched this film once in the cinema, when I was too young to appreciate it, and then on video. Never seen it on DVD, so seeing it in HD is going to be...like watching C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate?

BTW the latest issue of EMPIRE has a fantastic multi-page feature celebrating BLADERUNNER's 25th anniversary. After reading it, I've finally decided that it makes no sense for Deckard to be a replicant, and that in fact the film works better if he isn't.

Wow, they've already started double-dipping Blu-rays. I can't imagine anyone preferring Sigourney Weaver's narration to David Attenborough's timeless, classic voice. But I'll be mighty pissed if this version includes the making-of extras that were left off the first release...
